Eba Désirée Sandrine Kouamé

Information

Eba Désirée Sandrine Kouamé brings clients a perspective shaped by training in both civil and common law systems, combined with fluency in English and French – capabilities that matter in New Brunswick’s bilingual legal landscape.

Working primarily in litigation with a focus on collections and commercial disputes, Eba helps clients understand their options and chart a clear path forward. Her approach is grounded in the belief that effective legal counsel means making the law accessible, not mysterious.

A lot of people don’t know the options they have,” she says. “Even when outcomes aren’t guaranteed, understanding those options can make a real difference.

Eba’s legal journey began in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, where she earned a civil law degree before recognizing that many international organizations operate within common law systems. Rather than limiting herself to one legal tradition, she came to Canada to master both, completing her Juris Doctor at the Université de Moncton, where she studied common law in French.

This dual background gives Eba insight into how different legal systems approach problem-solving, an asset for clients with international connections or cross-border considerations. Her bilingual capability allows her to work seamlessly in either official language when serving New Brunswick’s diverse communities.

After articling with the City of Saint John’s legal department, where she focused on public law matters, Eba joined Lawson Creamer in 2025. That experience deepened her understanding of how legal issues affect individuals and businesses directly.

Eba is particularly committed to ensuring legal services are accessible to those who may be unfamiliar with the legal system – a perspective informed by her own experience navigating a new country and legal framework.

I love Saint John,” she says. “It’s a beautiful small city.” Outside her practice, Eba remains connected to the francophone community and is involved in church activities, while also pursuing interests in interior design and fashion.
