Jack Long brings a practical, client-first approach to his transactional law practice, advising individuals and businesses on corporate, commercial and real property matters, with experience in wills and estates as well.

Working alongside partner Veronica Ford, Jack has spent his articling year guiding clients through some of the biggest transactions of their personal and business lives. What draws him to the work is the relationship side of it.

A lot of it is about being with people through some of the most important moments in their lives,” he says – buying a business, closing on property, building something they've worked toward for years.

Jack didn't arrive at law with a fixed plan. He studied business at Acadia University and, watching some of his peers head into entry-level roles that didn't appeal to him after graduation, started looking for a credential that could open doors regardless of where his career led. A law degree – and conversations with a family friend then practising at Lawson Creamer – pointed him toward law school.

He had already been working summers at the firm when he learned he'd been accepted to the University of New Brunswick's law program.

I still remember the day,” he says. “I was filling in at the front desk and I got the email. I think back to that moment a lot now – it's kind of wild how fast it's gone.

Jack went on to complete his Juris Doctor at UNB, returned to Lawson Creamer as an articling clerk and was called to the New Brunswick Bar in June 2026.

Like his colleague Oliver Larson, he points to the same thing when asked what's kept him at the firm.

Everyone here is so busy, but they always make time," he says. "Everything I've learned about the practice of law has come from this firm.

Born and raised in the Saint John area, Jack grew up and still resides in Rothesay. Outside of the office, Jack enjoys staying active and enjoying all that New Brunswick has to offer with his family and friends. Jack is a diehard Boston sports fan.
