Q: What does Q.C. mean?
A: Q.C. stands for Queen’s Counsel. It is a designation conferred upon a lawyer in recognition of exemplary merit and contribution to the legal profession.
In New Brunswick, recipients are selected by a committee including the Chief Justice of New Brunswick, the Attorney General, and the President of the Law Society of New Brunswick.
The designation is conferred at a ceremony held at the legislative assembly in Fredericton.
