RSVP: Municipalities in Court – Enforcement of By-laws and Challenging Municipal Decisions

The Saint John Law Society is pleased to present a CLE session on “Municipalities in Court: Enforcement of By-laws and Challenging Municipal Decisions”, presented by Kelly VanBuskirk, Q.C., and Scott Brittain. The CLE will take place from 12:00pm to 1:30pm on Friday, December 11, 2015, at the Community Room of the Saint John Police Headquarters, 1 Peel Plaza, Saint John at 12:00 noon.

The topics are:

Kelly VanBuskirk, Q.C. will speak about procedures and strategies for challenging municipal decisions at the APAB, on Judicial Review and through human rights complaints.

Scott Brittain will speak about the enforcement of municipal by-laws in the Court of Queen’s Bench and give tips on procedural issues to be attentive to when representing a municipality or defending against by-law enforcement in Court.

An application for accreditation of 1.5hours of CPD credits has been made to the New Brunswick Law Society, and approval of the credits is pending.
